I delight greatly in the LORD; my soul rejoices in my God. For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of righteousness. -Isaiah 61:10

What a wonderful place to take a rest - looking at God's creation and being reminded of His promises!
When was the picture taken, surely not January. It is a particularly pretty trillium, a kind not common in East Tennessee but very common in North Carolina.
Actually I happened upon this lovely flower in a ravine pull-off near Citico on our way to hike in the Cherokee National Forest. You are correct about it not being common in East Tennessee, but at Ijams Nature Park in South Knox County, someone has planted prairie trilliums and yellow trilliums. Because of their proximity to each other, an interesting cross pollination has occurred where the yellow trilliums have taken on a bronze tint. It appears to be like another species. Fascinating. I wish I knew more about botany.
